Employers can’t afford to compromise on AI safeguards.
Privacy, security, and relevance are now essential.
Transcarent surveyed 1,340 HR decision-makers at self-funded
employers to explore the role of AI in benefits administration. The
findings reveal that HR teams face significant administrative burdens,
particularly around repetitive benefits questions—91% report frequent
inquiries despite information being available online.
Employers using AI to manage benefits saw notable improvements:
nearly 50% experienced higher utilization across wellness, satisfaction,
and reduced leave. Conversely, 78% of those not using AI reported no
significant progress. Data privacy, security, and customization emerged
as top concerns, with 81% of HR leaders calling them non-negotiable.
